Magna / Verada AWD discussion here
Hey guys, lately I've been noticing an incredibly annoying high pitched whine when I'm driving around. It happens at about 60km/h at a modest volume (I originally thought It was just my new tyres/road noise) and will stick around as I slow down to about 40km/h. I won't notice it unless the stereo...
Hiy a Folks.......a nice little parcel arrived from down south on Friday....containing my new Front and Rear Disc Rotors...and pads for them.....they'll be going in during the next week when time permits....in the meantime, ...here's a sneeky at what i got........ ...
First time thread for V4Value! I just bought a 2003 Verada Xi, love the value you get for $7100!! It's the dark silver exterior with 2 tone grey interior, woodgrain console, leather, sunroof etc. I just added a set of CSA Savanah 18" rims with 40/235 low profiles. I am now wanting a lower stance,...
I'm buying a hiflow cat for my AWD rada next week. I know that there is an O2 sensor on the y pipe. but just needed to know if the stock cat has this aswell?. unfortunately getting under my car is a bit of a challenge and I can't get to the heat shield to remove it and see if there is one there as...
G'day All Its been quite a while since I last posted (for a number or reasons, too busy doing other stuff being the main one) though I have a look as a quest every now and then. Anyway about 15months ago I bought another Awd (3rd). Its a TW that had tinted glass, after market sunroof, 12 months...
Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but I've searched for about two weeks, and can't seem to find what I was looking for. If it is, then excuse my noobiness and feel free to point me in the right direction. From what I can understand, there are only a few differences between the models,...
Picked up a set of 18X8.5 second hand- w/ 3 tyres- 245x40x18- pretty cheap and pretty worn- found another tyre- different brand just to see if they were going to clear everything OK and work on the car. Tried them on and am getting some quite significant tram tracking through the steering- now...
I recenty bought an '05 Verada AWD. When test driving it I didn't notice any problems but when I purchased it a few weeks later I noticed the auto gear changes are quite rough. There's no unusual noise but it just gives you a sharp shove when it changes up. The lower the gear the worse the change....
I notice theres a bit of backlash when putting the transmission from park into gear, especially when it's cold and the rpm is slightly high, but at any rpm really. Is this typical and can anything be done about it? I assume it's the rear diff?
Looking to buy these springs for my AWD with standard 16" rims. I am located in Penrith NSW, anyone know where to get hold of them and the pricing? Interested in oponions of shocks as well. Thanks .
Not sure I'm doing this test the right way, need confirmation to be sure I don't need a new diff/transfer case. I've got the car jacked up. all four wheels off the ground. Turn one of the rear wheels (RH rear) manually and the opposite wheel (LH rear) spins in the opposite direction?!?! This...
Well we all know the answer to that, they should have been but never were......until today We have just taken the first AWD Manual Magna for its first drive Result..... Well of course it does not go as hard as a FWD Manual BUT while all the FWD's are sitting there trying to find traction...
hy guys got a bit of a query here especially if you own an awd. ive got a KL awd verada with 70000kms on the clock it seems to be getting only 300kms to a full tank (last fill up was $50 @ 1.12p/l with approx 43-45 ltrs) on fill it the guage registers its full but when driving even at 60kms you can...
Hey all, I'm going to start planning a Magna build for when I buy my next car, leaving my TL AWD open for mucking around with. I love the handling of the Magna, I feel the AWD drivetrain is great however I would love some more power. I dream of having it race-prepped for both hillclimbs and...
So, travelling to work today and I noticed a whine coming from the back. It was still there coming home. A workmate I was taking home noticed the same whine and asked if it was the diff. He mentioned something about a head plate? Not sure, but, anyone got any ideas? Had the same symptoms? It is...
Recently I inherited a 2004 Subaru Forester (2004, 2.5 sohc with 120,000km) when my dad passed away. Was running like an absolute dog- no power, really poor fuel consumption, didn't start first hit, etc. Thought it might be a poor job of timing belt getting one tooth out on one bank or something...
A couple times now when turning right at at an intersection and accelerating hard from stopped i've felt a momentary slip like a rear wheel has slipped. (This is in the wet we've had recently here). It recovers almost immediately but the car body wobbles (slight fish tail) when it happens. Is it...
Hi all, I bought a KJ AWD Verada a week ago and I think the valve stem seals are pretty warn, it only has 223,000 k's which is ok for its age, but its very fumey, if it idles for 5 minutes then I give it a rev a bush fire comes out the exhaust, LOL, I did flush the motor and put HPR10 in it but...
We have just bought a 2003 TJ AWD Sports with 85 000ks that is completely stock. It currently sits low in the rear (wheel rear wheel arch is almost down in line with the top of the tyre) but the front appears to be quite high. A few I have seen around the place seem to be similar (lower at the...
Hey guys Looking at slapping on some King's super lows on the front and just lows on the rears but am unsure what to do regarding the shocks. Looking around it seems KYB is far better than Ultima, is $460 for a full set of KYB's delivered a fair price? If I were to install it myself with...
