Fuel Economy - What do you get out of a tank? (3rd gens only)

i gave the old girl a good cracking over the hols with a 550 k trip home on LPG i get about 65 ltrs of usable fuel in the tank and im just about to crack 600 or so k's but with an average speed of 107 kph for 5 hours it was nice on the juice

havnt tried out the petrol yet as i have no fuel guage for that need to macgyver 1 up switching from lpg to petrol borks the trip computer

looks like i will struggle to make 400K's around town on the same tank

WoW, I only get about 250- 300km's out of 50ltr's of LPG. Thats mostly around town though.

I have got close to 800km's from it on Petrol doing highway driving, sitting at 100kmh on cruise. Around town that pretty much halved, so I would expect 500 - 600km's on a trip.

yep around town lpg sucks when petty was less than $1 and lpg was about 45 - 50 c i used petrol but now there is still a bit of saving from lpg around town but if you had to go fit a lpg tank now i dont think you would recover the savings unless you do a lot of ks

just got back from a long trip.. on the way using caltex vortex i got 735k on one tank and the reserve light was just starting to come on.... avg fuel was about 9.1, sitting on 118kph on cruise (in a 110 zone too) . Wasnt going to risk tryin to get to the next town on reserve. Not so good on the way home.. further west i went, the worse the fuel got. but thats the best effort so far..

With that amount of fuel, you might as well get a v8 falcon or commodore or a nisan patrol.

that's with the supercharger, right?

I'm interested to see how my fuel economy is affected after my blower goes on.

I suppose if you drive like a granny, short shifting, it should be okay.

Doubt you will be able to resist the urge to use the extra grunt, the sound is enough to be addicted.

For the performance, particularly considering the AWD, the fuel consumption in much better than a V8.

My XB Ford 351 4V used about 30 - 35Litres per 100km when driven with only a bit of vigor, had no traction and was cop bait.

I'm sure the first month or so will be expensive on fuel, but after that I'll probably only give it one or two squirts (when necessary )

I always change before 3000, so I guess that would be short shifting. I don't usually run it out to red line on the way to and from work!!!
