2001 TJ auto, no mods, its done 110,000ks, tyres at 35psi, well serviced and looked
after....
800+ per tank is easy. Premium fuel, but I see no difference with ordinary ULP. 99%
country driving, flat roads, semi grandpa mode, nearest town worthy of the name is 240k away. Low 8s/100k is average. Chasing economy I get into the 7s, but air con drives
it up over the 8 mark again....
A couple of weeks ago I drove the 240k to the nearest "city", and not being in a hurry I
tried to see just how good I could get the fuel economy. Sitting on 103k, no air con,
granny mode "on".....I saw 7.5 average consumption just as I got to the outskirts.
Best ever! I don't think I can get better than that. Maybe if I sat on 90kph, but that
gets very boring....getting the 7.5 figure was boring enough.....
But city driving, even just around town, is a different story. Economy goes out the window. 10 litre/100k....11.....12.
Old One.

) with a mixture of approximately 65% freeway and 35% suburban driving (commuting to and from work with no passengers). It works out around 8.5-9.5l/100km give or take.
