where my stalling problems on my TL AWD were 100% successfully cured by replacing the original AFM with a second hand unit.

Although, an idle speed that is actually just too low(500 rpm - should be about 750 warm) would not be cured by swapping AFM's.

But, yes, AFM's are interchangeable between FWD/AWD.
