I had a look at mine and what had happened was the bracket that held the cable to the window mount had snapped off. It appeared that after a feeble attempt to repair the bracket to get me going again, the cable is simply under too much pressure for the design. We tried to reconnect it but there is no way a human could get the tension in the cable to stretch it enough to connect it. So, i have come to the conclusion that the machine that made the assembly simply had the tension too tight for the design.![]()

guess what I have joined the club
so going to give mitsi a call in the morning
i joined it first, mine went on boxing day so had to wait until today with a rear window down! worst part i was in esperance on holidays (750kms from home) so had to drive home with window cardboarded up, looked so dodgy, and more than a little embarassing!
then they didnt even have the parts at the dealer so cant get it fixed till thursday. fml
yeah have to wait til tomorrow to get it looked at
rang around the dealers close to me and most are out of the parts needed
Not happy but what can you do
Motor on my back passenger side died about 2 weeks after I bought mine last year. Took it in the next day and had it replaced under warranty.
I've had all four window winders die, including one that has failed twice. Grr!
The common failure is that the glass just... drops. Fixed under warranty each time, but it's getting annoying.
Its funny when you can walk in to a dealer and tell them exactly what is wrong with it
The service advisor tried to argue with me that it wouldbe more complicated thatn what it was LOL
I had different guy give me back my motor LOL
Love the window SOX left car in driveway for 2 days and no one would have known
Ive had my DS rear window replaced, the windscreen (Funny Story!) and now my DS front window wont go up or down.
It's relay clicks, but the window dont move.
The funny story about the windscreen.
We had an annoying vibration / rattle in the cabin, so I reported it to the Mitsu dealer and they booked it in to be looked at.
I drop the car off and explain that it could be caused not only when driving along the roads but when you turned the sound system up.
So, they look into it and at 5pm when I arrive to pickup my car, its sitting there without the interior mirror AND a broken windscreen!
It turns out the the tech (Not a mechanic) who looked at the car (at 4:30pm!) had decided that it was the interior mirror and had attempted to remove it from the screen with a yank!
This got the mirror off the sreen and also took with it a large chunk of the interior glass layer of the laminated windscreen!
(How the hell he managed it, god only knows!)
So, now they had to replace the windscreen under warranty as well as the mirror!
It took 2 weeks to get a new windscreen and 6 weeks for the mirror..................
At the allotted time, these items were duly fitted and guess what?
The rattle / vibration was still there!
(It turns out it is the lid on the sunglass holder in the roof that was rattling...........It took me 30 seconds to fix it......myself!)
