The story thus far ... rough riding, well loved family car crashing over small bumps and lacking rebound conteol. Basically in need of a suspension makeover. Its been a while and another quote came back as more affordable.

Today she went in new shocks, lower control arms and rear bushes. Yet to go driving. First thing tomorrow.....

MILEAGE is one of the few things that you need to check every now and then to keep your car in good condition.

Hi Janwex, welcome to the forums. Look forward to hearing about your ride.

I checked the mileage and its been 150,000kms since we'd done anything to the suspension. Little wonder it was starting to feel worn.

So, a nice little drive this morning and definite changes for the better. Body control is much more disciplined and it now glides over smaller bumps, potholes and corrugations like it should do.

She still wears the factory original 16 inch rims but now with Bridgestone re003s, rather than the Turanzas it came with. I like it this way.

I can now hear a lot more activity and movement in the suspension, which is somewhat unnerving. But in all, a worthwhile improvement.

New year, new seat covers.... the old ones were literally coming apart at the seams.

Only from supercheap, but still nice to have new things. Getting used to the colour change, from black and grey stripes to plain grey.

    First world problems... !

You could always get some new trim. It is available. IMO preferable to seat covers.

The seats are actually ok. Its the door cards that id like to replace. But something mechanical always seems to take precedence.
