Can the dash lights on a TJ II be upgraded? Mine look a little dim and it's not the dimmer control. The climate control panel is unreadable in the daytime.

Yes, you can upgrade all the lights. Recently got through doing it.
I have a TJ2 Magna Sports Sedan. I have installed a blackout instrument cluster out of a KJ2 Verada and a LED clock out of a 97' Verada (IMHO the best clock Mitsubishi ever made). Whilst the cluster was plug and play, for the clock I had to upgrade the upper dash loom to one from a KJ2.
In regards to the climate control, I just replaced the original globes with white LED globes and although not necessary replaced the screen protector with a new darker plexi glass screen I cut to shape. The result is not 100% perfect, but I think it looks better then the original configuration and is brighter. The climate control unit isn't that hard to pull apart, you should be able to work it out if you take your time.
