Ah, not "no danger", there was a risk but the claiim was that it was very low. If asbestos could be used without danger then you can bet we would be using it.

We have strict regulations on asbestos and it was totally unacceptable and alarming that this happened. I hope they've learned and are now conducting better inspections. I'd hate to think that any cheap parts coming in have any asbestos in them. I often worry about cheap chinese ovens, prefab building materials and gasket parts.

Recently there was yet another asbestos scare when it was discovered in cheap building materials used in new buildings in Melbourne. Need to pull the finger out and get serious with the governance practices at the ports and get tougher on building inspections.

Poor workers in China....god help them.
