    Default AWD In a constant state of panic - WTF?

    My AWD keeps activating its alarm. Open the driver's side door or the bonnet and the alarm sounds.

    I've replaced the following;
    Ignition antenna
    ALL door switches and bonnet switch

    Things I've checked;
    ALL electrical connections to from BEM to ECU.
    ALL Electrical connections in the engine bay
    ALL the god damn fuses (so many fuses).
    Blasted every appropriate connection with contact cleaner.
    Tried both keys, not change.

    How did it happen?
    I left the car sit for a few weeks (3 or 4 weeks). The battery went dead. Jump started it, warmed it up, got charge into the battery and stopped the engine. Next start it was slow to wind over but started then it was all "BEEPS" and flashes.

    Replaced battery thinking it was a low voltage thing. No change.

    I can open the three other doors, and the boot, but if I open the driver's side door or bonnet the alarm sounds.

    What the heck am I missing here. Please help.
    I'm not a complete idiot - some bits are missing.

    Your voltage reg or the jump start could have damaged the BEM. It isn't unknown.

    But have a check of the boot swtich too. make sure the contact isn't bent

    Thanks chief.

    I think I fixed it. I don't know how, but I was headed down the path of dead BEM. My cabin/dome light was not working, which I gathered indicated an issue with the BEM (just my interpretation of the workshop manual).

    What I did was disconnect the battery for half an hour. During this time I removed any non-factory wiring - I had some additional accessory sockets running from the Bluetooth/phone 4pin socket. Reconnected the battery - no change. The alarm was still active but my dome light was now working. So, I got out of the car, locked it using the key, then unlocked it. Problem solved.

    I then spent half an hour trying to get the issue to occur again. So far so good.
