Ok,cheers.
Best to let it soak for as long as you can. You would be surprised how much gunge comes out. The double layer in the inside of the rocker cover must be full of it, after all these years.
If you are close to a friendly workshop they could drop them into their washing tank, I suppose.
I know this is an old post but it relates to my issue. I have a 08/96 TS V6 3.0 wagon and everytime I talk to parts people thye try to tell me it's a TE. The immobiliser is intermittent, the starter motor won't turn over so I tried bypassing the starter with a wire to the solenoid and no fire. Obviously spark has been cu too, there is power going through the ignition to the plug but gets lost between there and the solenoid. I've loked for the immobiliser part that Madmax mentions but there is no immobiliser parts inside the barrel, it's an add on between the barrel and the ignition switch. I have found a page from AFI that mentions splicing some wires on the back of the ecu, has anybody tried this? Hoping somebody can help tia.
