    Default Lowered suspension

Looking at lowering my Verada, any suggestions on what springs and shocks to use. Was thinking Kings Super low { front } super low or low, not sure which ones at the rear. Will super low at rear be to much at rear? Monroe GT Sport shocks.
Or are the better products to use on the Magna/Verada
    Thanks

    Boge shocks are prob best.

Super low will scrape a lot IMO

I had "super lows" in my TJ VRX. Now have standard height.

The minimum ground clearance was less than than 100 mm which may get you a defect notice here in WA if you get noticed and pulled over.Older cars like my VRX and all those bogan commodores attract cops like flies over here. They want em off the road. I have a DOT approval for the extractors just in case.....

I had to be careful with driveways etc and the car has copped its share of scrapes on the spoiler and pushed in bottom extractor tube.

Pain in the bum to live with as a daily driver. Personal choice though as how low you go.

Do you still had the mud flaps on your Verada? I personally like the look of them (if they are the same colour as the car, not just black) and didn't remove them. Went with Dobinson low springs but wish I stayed with standard height. It's tolerable with just 1 person in the car but need to go slow over speed bumps or the flaps will scrape. If theres anyone sitting in the back it sucks. Overall it's not worthwhile IMO. Id stay with standard

Also despite having brand new Dobinson springs / boge shocks and fitting the later model subframe with sway bar. I find the ride quality is still nowhere near as good as the genuine GTVi suspension even when it's 16 years old. If I saw a GTVi in the wreckers yard with good suspension id pinch both the springs and shocks and fit them to my KF

Love the look of the lowered Magna's. But dont want to sacrifice the ride comfort. Thought if you bought good quailty gear you would keep the comfort factor as well. No it doesn't have mud flaps on it. It is the Verada GTVI, just looks a bit high.

I have been looking at a few combos on Mitsfix site. SACHS dampers / Dobinsons Springs, or the D2 Racing RS Series Coil Over Suspension Kit. Has anyone had any experience with either of these combos. Your advise would be much appreciated.

I now have Dobinson LOW front and rear.

    C43-076 Front LOW

    C43-083 Rear LOW

Here is a link to a Dobinsons catalog - it seems this is not available now via Mr. Google for a .au web address

    Page 26 0f 48 for Mitsubishi Magna.

    https://www.dobinson.ru/pdf/Coil_Spring_Catalogue.pdf

Ring MitsFix 1300 300 274 to see if he has stock of these.

For 6 months I put up with SUPER LOW (C43-077v) at the rear - since swapped out for LOW.

My driveway won't allow too low springs - thanks to the despicable a'wipes at Kiama Municipal Council who refuse to fix it.

I have Sachs gas at the front, and now Koni red at the rear(after swapping out the Sachs gas at the rear).

Koni Red are quite good IMO.

Sachs are supposedly good, but I am not a big fan, but they will be just OK as long as you do not go too aggressive with the tyre profile/big wheels.

I now have 17"/7" wide VRX wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 215/55/17 tyres, and am not considering going any bigger.

Almost all suspension components/bushes, front and rear, have been replaced over the last 2.5 years.

For the front, I am looking at Bilstein strut inserts which are expensive, as the Sachs just do not offer the ride quality/control that I am after.

The ride is OK, not as comfortable compared with standard, but still OK.

I welcome the noticeably improved handling.

A somewhat lengthy explanation of the suspension work that I have had done over the last 2.5 years or so is in this thread:

    https://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=108200

The first image is how it sits today(click on the image to enlarge and wait about 30 seconds - I have no idea why the delay).

The next 2 are how it was the day before I got the lowered springs fitted(IOW @ standard height and with stock 16" wheels).

An AWD model(like mine) weighs about 150kg more than a FWD model.

That will reduce ride height by a few mm as compared with a standard car.

Ground clearance in most situations is OK.

    Mud flaps do NOT scrape.

I was cosidering the D2 Racing RS Series Coil Over Suspension Kit. At least you can change ride height to suit. Not sure how they compare to the shocks and lowered springs.

I'm hoping someone has had some experience with the D2 coil over suspension, as I am also contemplating these. I'm not overly happy with the Sachs and Dobinsons combo I have, as the car tends to skip over small bumps. At times I wish I had kept the factory suspension as my car was a dream to drive on dirt roads with, even on 18's. But magnas/veradas sure look better when they are slightly lowered.

Yeah mate you are right, they do look nice lowered. The D2 coilovers look good, guess you can't have your cake and eat it, sure you are going to be sacrificing something for the convenience. Do you have the ( low springs) like Leadfoot?
