    Default are extractors 4 awd same as fwd

    hi all,
    i have been offered a set of extractors (pacemakers) and was just wondering if their was a set for the FWD and a set for the AWD or are they all the same?......they are cumin off a FWD if that helps, i am brain dead when it cums to this sort of stuff, tryed searchin but could not find any help would be much appreciated.......sorry if posted in wrong section!!!

    The only difference between the FWD & AWD extractors is the 'Y' piece AFAIK.

    Hurricane extractors, for example are the same, just a different 'y' piece.

    The difference in the HM ones is that the FWD rear secondary makes a sort of round corner rectangular bend whereas the AWD rear secondary makes a round bend. See my post here.

    I think the difference is there because the AWD has a different sump design on the engine.

    so does this mean i can get the extractors of him and just buy a Y peice to suit is that correct , if so how much would that cost roughly?

    If you mean the hurricane ones, yes. Specify to them it's for AWD though, & they'll supply the correct y piece.

    As for price, Hurricane are expensive. Expect $700+.
