    Default Boot latch issue

    Has anyone had an issue now or before where you've gone to shut the boot but it doesn't latch properly so you have to slam the boot hard to get it to shut?

    Jep. Adjust it so it clicks shut quite gently. Otherwise you may shut it, and never be able to open it again.

    You will need:

    1 x 10 mm socket & ratchet and/or medium-large sized phillips head screwdriver.

    (my image service is not working at present- maybe later - so for now you will have to get by without the images I took)

    Open boot;

    Look down;

    You will see the 2 x bolts and latch located on the horizontal section of the bodywork structure upon which the rubber seal and plastic trim guard is attached;

    Gently undo the 2 x 10mm bolts securing the latch and very gently move the latch plate slightly - I would suggest downwards initially - but this depends on your specific situation;

    Re-tighten bolts;

    Close boot gently and check if it seems easier to close;

    Re-try adjustment procedure until boot closes securely and easily.

    There is not much to it really.

    EDIT: Also make sure that the rubber seal has not been moved upwards somehow.

    It is unlikely, but check just to make sure.

    EDIT II: Image added by using different image host. It appears "Tinypic" is now "cactus".

    Thanks for that. I think it might be the other part though, the bit that's actually attached to the boot lid. I think the mechanism in it is wonky
