Hi all, Dad's 380 chewed a valve (suspected broken bolt on timing tensioner, who knows if it's mechanical fault or mechanics fault from the timing belt changed 6 months ago..)
As the car is now worthless, unless the wrecker next door offers $50 for it, I was wanting to ask the mechanics and DIYers how hard an engine swap would be. Also, would you consider it a worthwhile endeavour - i'm not sure currently how much a 380 engine goes for, as i only just got news from the mechanic.
Myself and my brother have done a few DIYs and have a half decent range of tools - we haven't done anything related to engine timing/tear downs and builds/electrical. I imagine an engine swap would just be disconnecting wiring looms, radiator piping and some air intake piping and craning the new engine in.
All input welcome!
Cheers, Mick
